Fresh air supply systems provide outside air to the central heating and cooling system for distribution throughout the home via the central air handler and duct system. The air is typically introduced at the return duct ahead of the air handler, so the outdoor air is filtered before distribution. The outdoor air will also be conditioned when introduced coincidental with space conditioning operation. Controls are integrated with the heating and cooling system air handler to ensure adequate outside air is provided to meet design requirements.
